UNM's Cyberinfrastructure Day 2014

Enabling Data-Driven Scholarship

April 25, 8:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., at the UNM Student Union Building

UNM sponsors Cyberinfrastructure Day (CI) to foster active communication among faculty, researchers, technologists, and students to promote collaborative working relationships and collective problem solving.

Working together to effectively develop and use cyberinfrastructure in the State of New Mexico gives UNM an advantage in attracting excellent scholars and winning external research funding. Cyberinfrastructure service and data providers are available throughout the day to consult with researchers and answer questions, so come prepared to discuss the challenges you have with data-driven research.

At this year's event, we will cover:

  • Case studies of data-driven scholarship in the Social Sciences, the Humanities, and Natural Sciences.
  • Computing Strategies with a hands-on workshop.
  • Data-over-the-Network and Data Sets, with consultations from experts on accessing and leveraging the vast network of data resources around the globe.

Eli Dart from the Energy Sciences Network (EsNet) will give a talk over lunch on Research Networks, and there will a reception from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will showcase UNM students' work.
